Aug 05,2017: Assam government is all set to distribute 13 lakh Soil Health Cards among farmers. Participating in an AIR talk show last night, State Agriculture minister Atul Bora said that 1 lakh 41 thousand cards have been distributed from April 2016 to June this year.
Mr.Bora said that 214 soil test kits are operational for this purpose. He said the government will announce State Agriculture policy soon.
Mr. Bora said that emphasis has been given to successfully implement Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojna in Assam.
The minister said that recent flood has damaged over 2 lakh hectares of agricultural land in Assam and Agriculture department has taken step for community nursing for the help of flood hit farmers. Mr Bora said 7.54 crore rupees have been released as subsidy to farmers under crop insurance.
Mr.Bora, who is also holding the charge of Urban Development department, said that 600 crore rupees have been sanctioned by the Centre for Prime Minister Awas Yojna Urban scheme in Assam. (AIR NEWS)
