August 07, 2017:Ultimately Tripura BJP has gobbled up Trinamool Congress as all the six TMC MLAs including Sudip Roy Barman today joined BJP in Agartala. After today’s joining which was on cards for some time, certainly BJP has emerged stronger and TMC has virtually been pushed into oblivion while Congress is in pitiable condition. It is now safe to say that there will be a straight fight between ruling Left Front and BJP in ensuing Assembly Polls.Meanwhile, nowhere in the frame during last Assembly polls, but still BJP managed to march to the State Assembly.
Political analysts stated, after winning election on Congress tickets, they deserted Congress and jumped into Trinamool Congress. But within a year, they once again changed their political identity and ultimately donned saffron robes. Many analysts are curiously observing the situation within the BJP after the joining.
“In the BJP, there are many former party colleagues who are bête noir of Sudip Roy Barman. Moreover, on the day of Holi fest, Agartala witnessed large scale arson and violence between TMC and BJP. It will be hard for BJP supporters to accept Sudip and Co. Whether today’s joining is a boon or bane will be known after the polls only”, opined analysts.
Addressing today’s joining programme, Dharmendra Pradhan said, Tripura is not only having huge natural gas reserve, the state has produced maximum bamboo in country but there is no scope for value addition. “In Assam, the BJP government plans to set up a plant where petrol and diesel will extract from bamboo with an estimated cost of Rs. 1000 crore”, he said.
In his speech, Assam’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, considered chief architect of today’s political outcome said even a super specialty hospital could not set up in Tripura even 25 years after the Marxist regime prompting the people to rush to either Guwahati or Kolkata or Chennai”.
BJP state president Biplab Deb hammered the Left Front government for failing to live up to the people’s expectations.
Soon after joining the saffron brigade, MLA Sudip Roy Barman today said his main objective will be to ensure defeat of anti-people government by next six months.
“I don’t want anything but will toil hard along with party leaders and workers to oust the Leftist government which has been looting crore of money in the name of people’s welfare”, he said after his formal joining here.
