Tripura is undergoing massive beautification drive and preparations are going on in full swing for the upcoming G20 Science Summit (S20) on April 3-4 in Agartala. Colourful lightings, Light and Sound, state-of-art Orchidarium and Sachin Dev Varma’s statue – deck is ready for a grand hosting of S20 in Agartala on April 3-4 next.
A total of around 90 national and foreign delegates will take part in the S20 in Agartala and engage in deliberations on ‘Clean Energy for a Greener Future’.
Delegates from 14 countries included in the G20 countries will attend the summit and in addition, invited members of nine countries will take part in the S20 in Agartala, secretary of the Industries and Commerce department Abhishek Chandra said while addressing a press meet in Agartala on Saturday (April 1).
The State administration is gearing up on the big occasion and implementing several projects at Agartala, Neermahala and Sepahijala sanctuary to greet the delegates in a big way.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha took to social media and wrote, “On the eve of G20 Summit Tripura Police is launching Tourist Police from April 2, 2023 to assist tourists. The tourist Police personnel will be available at Maa Tripureshwari Temple, Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal, Chabimura and Narikel Kunja. This is a new initiative by Tripura Police towards service of tourists and people of Tripura”
Dr Manik Saha inaugurated Light and Sound systems at Neermahal and Ujjayanta Palace as part of beautification drives. He also inaugurated a beautiful state-of-the-art Orchidarium at Oxygen Park, Agartala ahead of the visit of #G20 delegates. On April 4, the delegates will take part in a Yoga session there and plant saplings in the Park
On the preparations, Abhishek Chandra said, “A statue of Sachin Dev Varman will be installed at the Albert Ekka Park and a musical fountain will be set up Kumaritila”.
Moreover, the roads and footpaths of Sepahijala sanctuary have been widened.
Four big-sized Balloons with the G20 logo have been put up, Chandra said.
The G-20 Submit will commence at the indoor exhibition hall of the international fairgrounds in Hapania at around 9 am on April 3 next.
On the same day, exhibition stalls will be inaugurated, a press conference will be held and Investor Meet will be organized in the evening session.
Chandra informed the media there will be 55 stalls put up by different countries in the exhibition including stalls of handlooms and handicrafts of the State.
