Tripura Pradesh Congress president and Party's Candidate for West Tripura Lok Sabha Seat, Ashish Kumar Saha, urged people to defeat BJP for saving the country and democracy and vote for the INDIA bloc candidates in the LS polls.
Notably, in Tripura, Congress and CPIM are contesting in one each seat of the two LS seat in the State as INDIA Bloc.
Both the Congress and Leftists have hit the campaign trails. While all the frontal organizations of the Leftists are out in support of the INDI Alliance candidates, Congress are appearing to be yet to pick up the momentum.
To infuse confidence among the Congress supporters, party's candidate Ashish Saha embarked on campaign in Belonia under the South Tripura District on Sunday. During his visit, Saha held an organisational meeting with the local leaders and activists.
Addressing the organizational meeting, the Congress candidate emphasized the urgency of removing the BJP from power to safeguard the country, the state, and democracy.
He expressed deep concern over the BJP's alleged deception of the people, citing unfulfilled promises and a perceived exploitation of citizens under the guise of development.
He said, “The BJP has been cheating with the people of the country and the state. Not a single promise made to the common people has been kept so far. Instead, people are being looted in the name of development”.
The Congress guarantees five crucial things: Nyay for farmers, Nyay for Youths, Nyay for women, Nyay for working class and Hissedary Nyay, if voted to power, said Saha.
He urged party leaders and activists to engage with the public, raise awareness about the BJP-led government's purported 'wrongdoings,' and encourage voters to support the INDIA Bloc.
Notably, the faction ridden State Congress with it's weak organisation is facing formidable challenges in the upcoming polls. Saha is pitted against BJP's Biplab Kumar Deb.
