Every election is a political struggle. The current Lok Sabha elections in the country are not just a fight for a change of power. This fight is to protect the country's secularism, democracy, sovereignty, and above all, the country's constitution.

All secular democratic and patriotic people of the country must join this fight.

This call was given by CPIM state committee member Badal Chowdhury at an election meeting held at the Karuna Smriti Hall of the CPIM Belonia Divisional Committee office on Sunday.

Three separate election meetings were held on Sunday at the Karuna Roy Smriti Hall of the CPIM Belonia Divisional Committee office for three Assembly Constituencies under the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, with CPIM workers, supporters and sympathizers.

Apart from Badal Chowdhury, Congress alliance candidate Ashish Kumar Saha, CPIM Belonia Divisional Committee Secretary Tapas Datta, MLA Dipankar Sen, Ashok Mitra, Jyotirmoy Som and others spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, CPIM state committee member and former state minister Badal Chowdhury alleged the country is caught in the web of a terrible fascist force.

The country's hard-won independence is under attack. Democracy is in danger. The country is rapidly moving towards a military dictatorship. If this terrible danger is not stopped now, the country's unity, integrity, secularism and above all, the country's constitution cannot be saved.

The BJP-led government at the Centre and in the state is running on lies and deceit. They had promised that two crore unemployed people would be given jobs every year, that jobs would be given on missed calls, that black money would be recovered, that Rs 15 lakh would be deposited in everyone's account, that 10323 terminated teachers in Tripura would be given jobs, that contractual workers would be regularized, that the Seventh Pay Commission would be given, that the prices of goods and services would be reduced, but they have not kept a single word. The BJP and the RSS have cheated the people.

He alleged democracy is in danger today in our state as well as in the whole country. People are not able to enjoy their constitutional rights.

Farmers are dying, factory workers are losing their jobs, education, health and employment have been severely disrupted. People's right to speak is being taken away.

The RSS and the BJP are using independent institutions for their own political interests. The BJP is desperate to establish a one-party rule and a Hindutva-based politics by destroying the trust of the people.

The unity and secularism of the country are in danger. The country's constitution is under attack. The people of the whole country are ready to save the country's constitution. The BJP has realized that the people will not fall for their false promises anymore.

That is why they are resorting to various tactics to weaken the opposition forces. No matter how much the BJP conspires, it will be defeated in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

CPIM state committee member Badal Chowdhury called upon everyone to play a worthy role in this fight to save the country and the constitution and to defeat the communal BJP force from the country.

Speaking at the meeting, INDIA Bloc candidate and Congress leader Ashish Kumar Saha said that the people of the country, including Tripura, are under attack politically, economically, socially and culturally under BJP rule. Secularism and non-violence are in danger and people want to be free from it.

He said that no political party is leading the government in our country, but a corporate government is running the country.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country are not just a fight for a change of power. This fight is to save the country's secularism and constitution.

He said that if the country is saved, then the ideology will be saved. He called upon people from all walks of life to unite in this fight.
