On the occasion of Bengali New Year which will be observed and celebrated on April 14, a philanthropic event was organized by Dumbur Barta, a popular magazine in Gandacherra subdivision in Tripura, in collaboration with Dumbur Nagar ICDS Project on Wednesday.
On this day, clothes, school bags, shoes, socks, etc. were distributed among more than 100 children of the area through a program at Ram Mandir premises in Sadananda Para of Rani Pukur Village of the subdivision. Chowdhury Sadananda Reang of the para (hamlet) and other dignitaries of the area were present there.
After the distribution of clothes, Chowdhury Reang said that Dumbur Barta magazine had played an important role in the development of Sadananda Para in the past. It worked to ensure road connectivity, electricity and drinking water facilities. He believed the magazine authorities are still working for the development of the para and will continue to do so in the future.
Reang further said various items were distributed among more than 100 children of the para on this day – it is truly commendable. For such generous efforts, Chowdhury Sadananda Reang wished Dumbur Barta a prosperous future and expressed hope that it would continue to do such social work more and more in the coming days.
