Arunachal Pradesh Government to file curative petition before the Supreme Court in respect to permanent settlement of Chakma and Hajong refugees in the state. The unanimous resolution was adopted today at an All Party Meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
It also endorsed the state government to take up with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, filing of curative petition from MHA as they being the respondent number one in the 17th September judgement. Earlier, the Apex Court had rejected the review petition of the state government in its September 17 verdict for granting citizenship to Chakma and Hajong refugees on Nov 19 last.
