The Assam government has announced a slew of measures for the benefit of farmers. State Agriculture minister Rockybul Hussein on Saturday in Guwahati said that Rs. 5,000 will be given to 1,000 farmers from each assembly constituency. Assam has a total of 126 constituencies. Hussein further said that state government has also set up a toll free number to help the farmer.

He also said that the Assam government will hold a meeting with farmers on 16th of this month in Guwahati on their various issues.
