Agartala, December 23, 2019: Bee keeping is not just a lucrative income activity, but also bees cast hugely positive impact on environment, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Addressing a programme in Agartala today, the Chief Minister said, “People don’t need to invest much in starting bee keeping. Besides, subsidized loans are also available for the persons interested in bee cultivation. Bee Keepers can get good incomes in a short period.”
“Bee Keeping is, apart from giving good income, also an important subject when it comes to environment. It plays an important role in balancing ecological system,” Deb said.
While encouraging the people towards Bee cultivation, he said, “the Bee venom is sold at Rs. 1 crore per kg. But, one needs to get proper training and improve skills for collecting and processing the venom. And, such trainings are being imparted in the state through Gram Udyog.”
Encouraging MSME related entrepreneurship, Deb said, “Entrepreneurship creates job creators as well as gives good income to the people in short period,” said Deb.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the programme organized to distribute Bee Boxes, leather tool kits among the bee keepers and cobblers at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. As many as 2000 Bee Keepers, who completed the training, were given the bee boxes.
The Chief Minister appreciated the role of Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, for his remarkable contributions in the field of bee keeping.
Emphasizing on expansion of bee cultivation, the Chief Minister also urged the Bee Keepers to become teacher and inspiration for others in their respective areas.
