March 09, 2018: Amidst huge cheering, Biplab Deb along with eight other BJP-IPFT MLAs today took oath in a grand ceremony in presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, All India BJP president Amit Shah, veteran BJP leaders like Advani, Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states including Nagaland and Manipur. In fact a galaxy of BJP national leaders and local spiritual leaders were present to witness the historic moment for BJP and Tripura. Also former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and CPIM MLAs attended the swearing-in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Assam Rifles ground in Agartala today. Biplab Deb has become the 10th Chief Minister of the State.
“Difference in the oath taking ceremony is obvious – during LF regime, people would only listen about ‘misdeeds’ of Central Government and ‘mal-treatment’ that Tripura meted out. However, there is noticeable change in the outlook in today’s programme. How far Biplab Deb led Government will achieve is a matter of speculation at this moment, but rays of hope radiated and it cannot be denied that BJP leaders have created a positive euphoria among the masses through their gestures and speeches”, said a middle aged person.
Altogether nine Ministers took oath today – seven are from BJP and two are from IPFT. Apart from the Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jisnu Debbarman, five others – Ratan Lal Nath, Sudip Roybarman, Pranjit Singh Roy and Santana Chakma took oath from BJP while NC Debbarma and Mebar Kumar Jamatia were from IPFT.
