A central govt team visits Tripura and reviewed key development projects in West District. They held discussions with West District DM Dr. Vishal Kumar, and expressed satisfaction over the progress of centrally sponsored schemes.
Agartala (Tripura), June 3: A high-level delegation from the central government is currently on a visit to Tripura to assess the status of key development schemes under implementation in the state. On Tuesday, members of the delegation held a comprehensive review meeting with West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, focusing on various central government projects across the district.
As part of their visit, the central team conducted field inspections in four administrative blocks — Jirania, Hezamara, Old Agartala, and Mohanpur — where several flagship schemes of the Government of India are being executed. During these visits, the officials interacted with Block Development Officers (BDOs) to gather firsthand insights into the progress, challenges, and impact of the schemes on the ground.
The delegation, which includes 22 senior officials from various central ministries, is in Tripura for the 142nd Level-D Training Programme for Under Secretaries and Section Officers, organized from May 26 to June 6. As part of this initiative, the officials are evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of both centrally sponsored and state-run welfare schemes.
During the review meeting at the District Magistrate’s office, four key officials led the discussions:
- Mukesh, Section Officer from the Ministry of MSME, reviewed the Chief Minister Model Village Scheme and the National Health Mission, focusing on their implementation at the grassroots level.
- Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Section Officer from the Ministry of Railways, discussed the functioning of the MGNREGA scheme and panchayat-level development efforts.
- Nitesh Kumar Srivastava, also from the Railways Ministry, evaluated progress under the Swachh Bharat Mission and Ayushman Bharat (Jan Arogya Yojana), highlighting the need for sustained healthcare delivery and sanitation services.
- Devendra Kumar Meena, another Railway Ministry official, assessed the ongoing works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the Swavalamban Scheme, which aims at promoting self-reliance among beneficiaries.
The discussions focused on assessing how effectively the schemes are reaching the intended beneficiaries, the measurable outcomes so far, and areas where improvements can be made. The delegation also explored community feedback and sought to understand what additional support or services the public expects from these programs in the future.

At the conclusion of the visit, the central officials expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of implementation of various development projects in West Tripura. They commended the efforts of the district administration in ensuring timely execution and citizen outreach.
District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar assured continued cooperation and emphasized the commitment of the district administration to achieving the development goals outlined under both central and state-sponsored schemes.
