Ahead of his visit to the Northeastern states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his government is working for all round development of the region. He will be leaving for Gangtok this afternoon. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said he will leave no stone unturned to fulfil aspirations of Northeast.
Saying that he is eagerly awaiting of his 2-day visit, Mr Modi said he will participate in various programmes in Sikkim and Assam and interact with citizens. He said, he will attend the State Agricultural Ministers Conference on sustainable development, organic farming and eco-tourism, in Gangtok.
He said, he has a vision for the Northeast to become a hub of organic farming. He is scheduled to be present at the Conference for over two hours, during which he will also address the gathering. Mr Modi will also be visiting an organic products exhibition in Gangtok tomorrow morning and interact with organic farmers.
The Prime Minister will then leave for Assam and will lay the foundation stone for a new building for IIT Guwahati, and address the students of IIT, NIT and central universities of the North-East. Mr Modi will also address a tribal rally in Kokrajhar and youth rally in Khanapara.
Students of IIT Guwahati are waiting to listen on Start up India and Skill India programs from Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Modi will interact with around 6 thousand students of different higher educational institutes at IIT campus during his day-long visit to Assam tomorrow.
The PRO of the premier institute said that along with IIT, the Prime Minister will address students and faculties of Gauhati University and Cotton college among others. Before this program, Mr.Modi will address two meetings at Kokrajhar and Guwahati tomorrow.
