April 14, 2018: The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb unveiled a Life-size Bronze statue of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his 127th birth anniversary today in the ONGC Base Complex, Agartala. He was accompanied by MLAs Rama Pada Jamatia and Dilip Sarkar, ED-Asset Manager ONGC Tripura Asset G.K. Singha Roy , President (CWC) AISCSTEWA, ONGC P.R. Milli, Representatives of AISCSTEWA , ONGC Tripura and other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister in his speech said, “Babasaheb Ambedkar is not the leader of any particular community, but he is the leader of all Indians. He actually showed the way of inclusive growth. ‘Sab ke Saath Sab keVikas’ idea of the Prime Minister NarendraModi is inspired from his ideas.”
He further said, since long the Maharatna company ONGC is working in Tripura. PM Narendra Modi has given Asta (eight) Laxmi title to the eight NE states. Those states will develop in near future and shine like Ratna (gemstones).
“It is my dream to change Tripura within three years. The state has so much potentialities, so many natural resources. I will see to it that the potential can be fully utilized”, he said. Highlighting serene beauty of Chabimura, Deb said, the region has places like Chabimura which can give the similar of breath taking experience of cruise through famous Amazon River.
In his welcome address ED-Asset Manager ONGC Tripura Asset Mr. G.K. Singha Roy said, “The towering 7 ft. statue, will be the first of its kind in Tripura State. The bronze statue was crafted at Ram Sutar Art Creations, Noida, the same company that designed the Statue of Unity – the 527 ft. statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel at Gujarat.”
He added, “ONGC has always been a partner in progress of Tripura. In addition to our activities that have put Tripura on the Hydrocarbon map of India, ONGC endeavours to help in the progress of Tripura – Be it through our various CSR initiatives or skill development programmes.
