Corona scare: CBSE has deferred all ongoing board exams in India, abroad. In Tripura, no report of any positive case. Two including one Spanish woman sent for tests

As coronavirus threat is looming large, CBSE has deferred all ongoing board examinations. Meanwhile, in Tripura, there is no report of any positive Covid-19 case, so far – however, State Health Department is monitoring the situation. Today, Health department detained one Spanish woman and a youth from Malaysia and is conducting tests to ascertain health condition of the duo.

As a precautionary measure to prevent spreading of coronavirus, and in compliance of the instructions received from

Secretary of Department of Higher Education/School Education and Literacy, Government of India Union Government, the CBSE has deferred the Board examinations.
In a press communiqué , CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said all ongoing examinations of the board for classes-X and XII, being held in examination centres in India and abroad, and scheduled between March 19, 2020 to March 31, 2020 (both dates inclusive), shall be rescheduled after 31 March, 2020.The rescheduled dates will be communicated to all by March 31, 2020 after reassessment of the situation.
During the aforementioned period, re-examinations that were rescheduled to be held for North-East Delhi candidates will also be further rescheduled.
All ongoing board exams related evaluation work in various evaluation centres in the country is also suspended upto 31 March, 2020. All Centre Nodal Supervisors may ensure rescheduling of evaluation work from April 1, 2020, unless otherwise informed by the Board.
Spanish Woman, Youth from Malaysia under supervision

Even as there is no positive case of coronavirus in the State so far, two persons including one Spanish woman were sent to undergo tests for the virus today. Health department personnel Jassenia Harera – a 32 year old Spaniard – at Kanchanpur and sent her to IGM Hospital in Agartala for undergoing required tests. Local sources said, she entered Tripura from Bangladesh through Akhaura and reached Kanchanpur to go to Mizoram. On her way to Mizoram, medical team detained her at Kanchanpur and sent to Agartala for checkups.
In another incidence, one youth – Sujan Mian – who had been to Malaysia – arrived at house of Rukhsan Mian at Charilam yesterday. After getting the information, a medical team reached the house of Rukhsan and checked Sujan Mian. Mediacl team suggested Sujan to remain in self-observation while, medical team will conduct checkups and test every day
