As a part of the Government of India initiative towards Skill India Mission launched today by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised an event at Industrial Training Institute campus here today in association with the State Industries and Commerce department.
The programme was graced by Shri M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring speech, he made an appeal to the youths take up skills and vocational training as an integral part for employability and entrepreneurship development.
Shri Nagaraju spelt about the various curriculum introduced by the government in ITI and the need to upgrade them for better job opportunities. Mr V. G. Jenner, Additional Secretary and Director, Department of Industries and Commerce deliberated over the Government initiatives in the State and the need for private sector participation in skills. About 75 students participated in the program from Boys and Women ITI in Agartala, a press statement issued today by Smt Rupa Das, state executive, CII said this.
In the function, the address of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the launch of the Skill India Mission in New Delhi today was screened as live telecast before the students present.
Separately, a skill development training program was organized by the Nehru Yuba Kendra (NYK) at Nazrul Kalakshetra today. The program was inaugurated by Shri Gopal Roy, MLA in presence of Shri Ramu Dash, MLA, Smt Purnima Roy, Chairpersons, State Women Commission, Shri Bidhu Bhusan Bhowmik, former zonal coordinator of NYK amongst others. In the function, Shri Surajit Roy, coordinator of the National Skill Development Corporation said the Centre mooted a plan to impart skill development training to 28 lakh youths across the country.
