Covid19 lockdown in Tripura: State Govt announced relief measures to help poor. It will provide financial help to beneficiaries of several Central schemes like MNREGA

Agartala, April 04, 2020: In an attempt to lessen the burden of weaker sections during lockdown, Tripura Government will provide financial help to beneficiaries of several Central schemes.
The assistance will be provided to MNREGA workers of 12 aspirational blocks in the State – moreover, people under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and beneficiaries of Ujjala Yojana will also receive financial assistance. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said in a video message today evening.
“The government has decided to provide one-time assistance of Rs. 500 to each of the 92899 MNREGA job card holders of the twelve aspirational blocks through DBT. Total Rs. 4.65 crore would be required for this purpose,” the Chief Minister said.
Notably, twelve aspirational blocks in Tripura are Chawmanu, Dumbur Nagar, Ganganagar and Raishyabari of Dhalai district, Karbook, Ampi and Shilachari in Gomati district, Mungiakami and Tulashikar in Khowai district, Dasda and Damcherra in North Tripura and Rupaichari in South Tripura.
The Chief Minister said total 879241 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana in Tripura would receive three installments of Rs. 500 each for three months.
Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 2.04 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura would get Rs. 2000 each in their bank accounts through DBT, Biplab Kumar Deb said.
He also said that 2.76 lakh beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana would receive three installments of Rs. 750 each. If any beneficiary does not collect gas cylinder from local dealer, but utilizes the money of first installment for other purposes then the second and third installments would not be credited to their bank accounts, Deb pointed out.

Besides, the Chief Minister also announced financial assistance to affected families in yesterday’s strong storm.
He said six among the eight districts have been affected due to the severe storm yesterday and two districts- West Tripura and Sepahijala suffered the maximum damages.
“As many as 328 houses have been partially damaged. The government has decided to provide emergency relief of Rs. 5200 to the affected families each. They will get the assistance within next three days. In case of 48 fully damaged houses, the affected families will get assistance of Rs. 95100 each. The first installments of Rs. 5200 have already been provided,” Deb said adding that a process was already undertaken to assess the damage of crops and an amount of Rs. 1100 (per kani) would be provided to the farmers who suffered the loss.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also acknowledged the contributions made by the individuals and organizations to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the fight against COVID19.
He specially highlighted the donations of three little girls – Aarya Chakraborty (11), Poonam Deb (07) and Sayantika Deb. Hailing them as laxmi, Deb said, these girls’ donations are priceless.
