Agartala, April 04, 2020: In an attempt to lessen the burden of weaker sections during lockdown, Tripura Government will provide financial help to beneficiaries of several Central schemes.

The assistance will be provided to MNREGA workers of 12 aspirational blocks in the State – moreover, people under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and beneficiaries of Ujjala Yojana will also receive financial assistance. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said in a video message today evening.

“The government has decided to provide one-time assistance of Rs. 500 to each of the 92899 MNREGA job card holders of the twelve aspirational blocks through DBT. Total Rs. 4.65 crore would be required for this purpose,” the Chief Minister said.

Notably, twelve aspirational blocks in Tripura are Chawmanu, Dumbur Nagar, Ganganagar and Raishyabari of Dhalai district, Karbook, Ampi and Shilachari in Gomati district, Mungiakami and Tulashikar in Khowai district, Dasda and Damcherra in North Tripura and Rupaichari in South Tripura.

The Chief Minister said total 879241 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana in Tripura would receive three installments of Rs. 500 each for three months.

Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 2.04 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura would get Rs. 2000 each in their bank accounts through DBT, Biplab Kumar Deb said.

He also said that 2.76 lakh beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana would receive three installments of Rs. 750 each.
