January 19, 2018: Tripura unit of CPIM reacted quickly after it found an ECI logo in a facebook post. CPIM immediately lodged a complaint to the ECI. In a letter from CPIM to ECI, State Party secretary Bijan Dhar mentioned, The Logo of the ECI is an exclusive property of the ECI. The blatant use of this Logo by the BJP which is a ruling party at the centre may create wrong message in the minds of the electors of the state.
He also said, “”We are in doubt, whether the Election Commission of India has permitted the BJP to use its Logo for their campaign”.
Detailing about the post/poster which was circulating via Facebook and Whatsapp, CPIM urged the ECI to prohibit BJP to use of this Logo in BJP’s campaign page and take necessary legal action against the indecent use of the ECI Logo in their political purpose.
