Development in Agri sector: Tripura CM opens Post Harvest Management Centre and Rural Collection Centre

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated several facilities including a Post Harvest Management Centre and a Rural Collection Centre in Sepahijala District on Thursday (Nov 24).

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Post Harvest Management Centre and a Rural Collection Centre at Golaghati today. Among others Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy was also present.

Post-Harvest-Management-Agri-development-TripuraIn his inaugural speech, Dr Saha said the Tripura Government set up 17 warehouses for crop storing and Krishak Knowledge Centres at different parts of the State. He said, “The State Government is working for the welfare and development of the farmers in parity with the Prime Minister’s vision”.

The farmers will be able to store their surplus crops in the warehouses at a minimum cost, he commented and added, the Agriculture Minister and other ministers as well as public representatives are taking part in sowing to encourage the farmers. The Chief Minister also said expansion of market and selling of State produced crops in other States are benefitting the farmers by increasing their earnings.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said the government is working to enhance skill of farmers in modern cultivation technique for augmenting their earnings. To this end, the State government has set up Farmers’ Club, Krishak Pathshala and Farmers Knowledge Centers etc.

“The State Government is not only a farmers friendly government but also sincere in ensuring delivery of several welfare measures to the farmers.

Several Agri-equipment were distributed among the beneficiaries in the programme.

Ina separate programme, Dr Manik Saha also inaugurated a newly-built Dr. Shyamaprasad Agri Market Shed and Stalls at Gokulnagar in Bishalgarh under Sepahijala today.

As part of his visit to Sepahijala district, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new two-storied building of Konaban Class-XII School in Bishalgarh and a Sushasan Mela and held interactions with the beneficiaries of various schemes. The new school building has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 73.55 lakh.

Besides, Dr Saha opened the new building of Madhupur Primary Health and Wellness Centre in the district.

In another programme, the Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs. 9 lakh to three beneficiaries under various schemes including Swabalamban. He also handed over Patta to five landless families of Kamalasagar tea garden.
