As part of Diya Bati project – an innovative and ambitious initiative launched by the Government officers of Sepahijala District in Tripura -ten kids of the district received tablets for online study.
On the day of 73rd Republic Day, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma along with other dignitaries handed over the ‘tablets’ in a programme at District Magistrate’s office, Sepahijala on Wednesday.
Funded by Alpha Geo (India) Ltd under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the tablets would help the kids continue the learning process in this Covid pandemic.
Diya Bati scheme is designed to ‘mentor’ the vulnerable children of the District. A total of 243 children were identified to be mentored by the Government officers under Diya Bati project.
It was launched in Sepahijala district in August 2021. Before launching the Diya Bati project, administration conducted a ‘vulnerability survey’. The Vulnerability was identified based on several parameters like if the child is orphaned, abandoned by parents or under care of a single parent.
The project aims at helping little dreams of vulnerable children to blossom by providing them new opportunities for growth and development. The program is designed to support the vulnerable child in both socio-economic and psychological ways.
Impressed by the initiative of the Sepahijala district administration, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he would hold discussion to launch the same project in other districts also.

Sepahijala Zilla Sabhadhipati- Supriya Das Dutta, District Magistrate Vishwasree B, Superintendent of Police Rati Ranjan Debnath, District Social Welfare and Social Education officer- Dr. Chandrani Biswas and others were present in the programme.
