MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar reviews Skilling Initiatives in Tripura

MoS-Rajeev-chandrasekhar-Tripura-Skill-DevelopmentUnion Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar reached Agartala on a three-day visit to Tripura on Thursday (Aug 11). He reviewed the skilling initiatives taken in the state for creating jobs and entrepreneurships locally for the youth.

 

In a meeting with Minister of Industry & Commerce, Social Welfare & Social Education, Government of Tripura Santana Chakma, the Union MoS took stock of the various skilling initiatives being undertaken in the state. They discussed opportunities of creating jobs and entrepreneurships locally for the youth by providing them with relevant skills.

 

Other senior officials including the Secretary were present at the meeting. Rajeev Chandrasekhar held several engagements with government officials, party leaders and workers throughout the day.

 

He also visited Khowai district and addressed the Beneficiary Sammelan at Khowai Town Hall. The Union MoS spoke of PM Narendra Modi’s vision of AtmaNirbharBharat in general and about his Government's special emphasis on the development of the North-east by creating opportunities for education, skilling and employment for the youth.

 

enewstime-MoS-Rajeev-chandrasekhar-Tripura-Skill-DevelopmentHe also participated in the foundation day celebrations organized by Khowai Municipal Council and also distribute keys for E-rickshaws to beneficiaries and cheque to Self Help Groups.

 

The Minister also held a review meeting with senior officials of the District Administration in Khowai on the status of implementation of different schemes of the Government of India.

 

Chandrasekhar laid special emphasis on preparing a District Skill Development Plan by mapping locally relevant skills for promoting opportunities of jobs and entrepreneurship for the youth.

 

“The road to AtmaNirbhar Bharat travels through AtmaNirbhar villages, cities and Districts. Our skill training programmes must provide employment as an assured outcome and must pave for our youth to find opportunities locally and become self reliant”, the MoS said.

 

The Minister will visit Kalyanpur on August 12 (Friday) and will have an interaction with representatives of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis, among other engagements. The next day, he will be addressing a Tiranga Rally in Hawaibari village. He will return to New Delhi on August 13.
