The National Commission for Women (NCW) is actively working to enhance awareness among women regarding their rights, with a particular focus on marginalized communities. The Tripura Women’s Commission is also playing a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting women's rights in the state.

To further this mission, various strategic plans will be adopted to increase outreach and awareness in the rural and underserved areas of Tripura.

Dr. Archana Majumdar, a member of the NCW, emphasized these objectives during a press conference held at the State Guest House in Agartala on Thursday.

She said incidences of gender-based violence have reduced. However,Dr. Majumdar underscored the need for increased awareness about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. She stressed that empowering women with knowledge of their rights is crucial for their protection and overall social progress.
