Niti Aayog's 8th Governing Council Meeting focuses on 'Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of team India, PM Modi chairs meeting


Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the 8th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog on Saturday, with the participation of several Chief Ministers from across the country.

The meeting is currently underway at the newly constructed Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, focusing on the theme of "Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India."

Attending the meeting are various Union Ministers, including Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Amit Shah, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, and Narendra Singh Tomar.

The Chief Ministers present at the meeting include Dr Manik Saha (Tripura), Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (Himachal Pradesh), Bhupesh Baghel (Chhattisgarh), Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Pema Khandu (Arunachal Pradesh), Manohar Lal Khattar (Haryana), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat), Pramod Sawant (Goa), Conrad Sangma (Meghalaya), Eknath Shinde (Maharashtra), Hemant Soren (Jharkhand), and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (Andhra Pradesh).

However, eight Chief Ministers, namely Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi), Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal), Bhagwant Mann (Punjab), Nitish Kumar (Bihar), K. Chandrashekar Rao (Telangana), M.K. Stalin (Tamil Nadu), Ashok Gehlot (Rajasthan), and Pinarayi Vijayan (Kerala), chose not to attend the meeting.

As per the AIR News, the day-long meeting will encompass discussions on several important themes, including the focus on MSMEs, infrastructure and investments, minimizing compliances, women empowerment, health and nutrition, skill development, and Gati Shakti for area development and social infrastructure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conclude the meeting with his closing remarks in the evening.

The 8th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog serves as a crucial platform for Prime Minister Modi and Chief Ministers to discuss and deliberate on key developmental issues and strategies.

The presence of Chief Ministers from various states underscores the collaborative approach towards building a prosperous and empowered India. (Edited)
