Oisho Bani Society Distributes Relief Materials in Tripura
In the wake of COVID-19 spread in Tripura Oisho Bani Society with the support of STEYLER MISSION for the second time joining hands with likeminded organizations like YVK and other volunteers namely Mr. Prasanta, Fr. Valentine, Fr. Ivan, Fr. Antony J and Fr. Sushil under the leadership of Fr. Jeevan the director of Oisho Bani Society has commenced relief material distribution in different places.
As the opening of relief work phase-II on 13thAugust’2020 Fr. Jeevan handed over 30 dry ration kits worth Rs.800 each in Laxmilonga and Lembucherra area and also in the working office of Oisho Bani Society near Assam rifles Circuit house. Yuva Vikash Kendra the partner organization of Oisho Bani Society and Mr. Prasanta the volunteer of Oisho Bani Society distributed dry ration kits 150 families in Bardaman Thakurpara ADC village and 30 families in Teliamura respectively.
Oisho Bani Society has a Plan to cover over 600 families in two week times. The dry ration includes rice, dal, oil, atta, salt, turmeric, soyabean, onion, potatoes, sanitizer and masks. The 600 families are from different places in Tripura. 350 families in and around Agartala with the help of YVK and OBN, 85 families from Teliamura, 90 families from Khumulwng, 50 families from Ambassa and 52 families from Kamranga near Kamalpur will receive the relief materials.
Besides the dry ration Oisho Bani Society also is supporting 50 needy families including 25 women led families to take up IGA Activities specially piggery and goatery. The 50 families who receive the IGA support from Oisho Bani Society will be continuously monitored for a long period of time to make the initiative a sustainable model for livelihood.
