Tripura CM directs Power Dept for speedy flagship Progs implementation, action against hook-line users, harnessing call centers

Power-Supply-Tripura-CM-Durga-PujaTripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha directed the Power Department to take necessary steps ensuring uninterrupted power supply during Durga Puja and speedy implementation of flagship programme.

 

Dr Saha chaired an important review meeting on the flagship programmes under the Power Department for the improvement of Power supply. The review meeting was held on Tuesday (Aug 2) at the Civil secretariat in Agartala.

 

Notably, the Chief Minister is scheduled to go to New Delhi on August 5 next and later, apprise Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the implementation of several central schemes in Tripura.

 

Meantime, taking part in the review meeting, Dr Manik Saha said the government accorded stress on providing uninterrupted power supply in the State and modernization of the system. Steps should be initiated from now to ensure power supply without interruption. He also advised the officials to take legal actions, if necessary, against the hook-line users.

 

Among others, Deputy Chief Minister who also holds Power Department portfolio, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Secretary of the State Power Department Brijesh Pandey and Chief MD of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) Debashish Sarkar were present in the review meeting.

Those who want to avail of the electric supply, should be encouraged and connection should be given promptly”, Dr Saha said.

 

In this connection, the Chief Minister also pointed out that the consumers should not be harassed in any way.

 

“The Power Department must keep a watch so that consumers are not harassed. It is important that if any consumer makes a call to the Consumers’ Seva Kendra, the consumer will be provided with necessary and correct information politely”, the Chief Minister emphasized and added regular inspection of sub-stations as well as proper maintenance of the transformers. He also advised to strengthen the ‘call centers’.

 

He also advised the State Power Corporation officials to decorate the lakes marked as Amrit Lakes in the State with the installation of solar lights.  

 

Brijesh Pandey highlighted the status of several State and Central government projects including Kusum, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana etc.
