Tripura: Dental College in Agartala IGM Hospital soon to be functional, says ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury

The proposed Dental College in Agartala is set to become functional very soon. Tripura government has decided to start the Dental College in the G+7 building of IGM Hospital in Agartala, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury while narrating the cabinet decisions to the media on Thursday (Nov 17).

 

He also said, the cabinet also approved Chief Minister's Special Scholarship for Divyangan Students. Under this scheme, the blind students in colleges will get Rs. 5000 per month.

 

Sushanta-Tripura-Cabinet-dental-collegeThe matter of setting up the Dental College discussed in detail in the State Cabinet meeting and Chowdhury commented that the Dental College would a milestone in the healthcare sector of the State.

 

A team from the Dental Council of India already visited the existing infrastructure and expressed their satisfaction. The next inspection would take place in December.

 

Home Guards & Grant-in-aid Schools:

Talking about other decisions of the State Cabinet, the ICA Minister said, the council of Ministers has now given its nod to the proposal pertaining to give dress allowance of Rs 3895 every year to the Home Guards. Earlier, the incumbent government hiked the salary of the Home Guards to Rs 17,000. For total 576 Home Guards, the dress allowance would require an expenditure of Rs 22,43,520 per year. The first dress allowance would be given in December.

 

The State Cabinet green flagged the revised rules for the grant-in-aid schools. Chowdhury said, as per the Cabinet decision, teachers working in grant-in-aid school can be transferred once during their service tenure now. Earlier, there was no provision of transfer of teachers of such schools. He also said, Education department will control and monitor the recruitment and functioning of such schools. 

 

Sushanta Chowdhury also said the results of JRBT-conducted written examination would be declared in next few days.

 

Recruitment & creation of Posts:

He said, the cabinet approved a proposal for creation and filling up of 17 posts of Ward Secretaries under Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the recruitment process would be undertaken soon.

 

The ICA minister said, the Cabinet also decided to fill up 34 vacant posts in Tripura Legislative Assembly through direct recruitment.   

 

The council of ministers also approved filling up of 15 posts of Food Inspector (Group C) under the Food department. The notification would be issued soon, the recruitment would take place through TPSC.

 

Under the Jail department, total 263 posts of warder (male/ female) would be filled up soon. There are total 556 sanctioned posts.

 

The cabinet also decided to create 10 new posts under the Department of Information Technology, he said.

 

The cabinet also decided to enhance the internship allowances for Vet Science students from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 9600, Chowdhury said.
