The Tripura Government has planned to set up a modernized Nephrology department in the State, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday.
“In an attempt to stop the outflow of kidney patients from the State, the Government has made a plan to engage specialist doctors and open a Nephrology department fitted with modern infrastructural facilities”, Deb said while speaking at a blood donation camp at Dukli near Agartala today.
The Chief Minister made it clear that the State Government had accorded the highest priority in improving public health.
To this end, he pointed out, successful Open Heart surgery at GBP Hospital in Agartala is an indicator to government’s relentless effort in improving the public health services.
The Open heart surgery of the woman patient was done free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Deb also said, several other cardiology related surgeries were successfully accomplished in the GBP Hospital.
Deb also mentioned the Atal Bihari Regional Cancer Centre which has emerged as one of the hospitals in the Northeast Region for providing quality medical treatment.
“The Tripura Government is working to bring down the number of refer cases to other States to zero by developing modern medical infrastructure and ensuring better health delivery services”, Deb asserted.
The Chief Minister also referred the Covid transmission and said, owing to timely and effective steps taken by the State Government, controlling the transmission has been possible.
Among others, local MLA Mimi Majumder and secretary of Purvaudaya social Organization Niti Deb were present in today’s blood donation camp.
After the programme, the Chief Minister inspected cultivation in an organic crop-land of the Dukli Panchayat Samiti.
