Tripura Govt working to extend rail link upto Kanchanpur, says Biplab Kumar Deb

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the State Government is in touch with the Central Government for expanding rail link upto Kanchanpur in North Tripura. 

 

He also said that the BJP-IPFT Government had invested Rs 276 crore for the development of Kanchanpur area since after assuming power in 2018-19. Deb said this while addressing an election rally at Kanchanpur for District Council Polls. The Polls are scheduled to be held on April 6 next. He also reiterated that a new Tripura would emerge within 2022 and the Government is working in that direction.

 

At Kanchanpur he also took part in a road show along with other State-level and local-level leaders and urged people to vote for BJP-IPFT candidates in the Council Polls. Deb also met Samajpatis (Head of different indigenous community).  

 

Deb also addressed a public meeting at Gandachhera in Dhalai district today. In his speech, Deb focused on generosity of the PM Modi-led Central Government in sanctioning funds for Tripura.

 

Referring to the volume of the State Budget 2021-22, the Chief Minister said, size of the State Budget is around Rs 22000 crore – and PM Modi-led Central Government has approved funds for different project of worth Rs 23000 crore. Taking both the State Budget and Central projects together, it stands around Rs 45000 crore would flow into Tripura.

 

Hailing the role of the Central Government, Biplab Kumar Deb  added, the State never witnessed such a huge flow of funds for the development of the State in a short period. He also highlighted the achievements of his three-year-old Government and said, the State Government implemented 7th Pay scale for employees announced 3 per cent DA amidst Covid19 pandemic crisis.

 

In this connection, Deb pointed out that the BJP-IPFT Government in Tripura had raised the social allowances to Rs 1000 and would increase it to Rs 2000 by the next year as promised in the pre-poll Vision Document.

 

Taking a swipe at CPM, Biplab Kumar Deb said, CPM leaders used to describe LF regime as ‘Swarna Yog’ (Golden period) – however, in reality, after assuming power, we found that previous LF Government had left on us loan burden of Rs 13 thousand crore.
