A voluntary blood donation camp was organized on Sunday at Barjala Beena Pani School under the initiative of the BJP's Janjati Morcha of the 10-Majlishpur Mandal. The camp was inaugurated by Sushanta Chowdhury, MLA of Majlishpur constituency and state Tourism Minister, who illuminated the Mangaldeep.
Speaking at the event, Chowdhury said that it is our moral duty to be inspired by humanitarian activities, to encourage others, and to take initiatives. He expressed hope that this will reduce the suffering of the people in the future.
He called upon voluntary organizations, NGOs, and the general public to come forward to donate blood, saying that this will help maintain the blood stock in the blood banks of various hospitals in the state at the right level.
Encouraging voluntary blood donors, Minister Chowdhury said that saving lives is a great aspect of humanity. Any healthy person can donate blood up to the age of 65 years. He said that donating blood four times a year can keep one healthy. He also said that blood donors can stay healthy in many ways. Donating blood reduces the risk of heart attack, controls blood pressure, lowers cholesterol levels, and reduces obesity.
He further said that Chief Minister of the state, Dr Manik Saha is motivating the people of the state to donate blood voluntarily by going to blood donation camps. At the call of the Chief Minister, today the blood donation camps organized by various organizations and institutions have turned into festivals.
He said that they have decided to collect 500 units of blood from Majlishpur Mandal. This program started a few days ago. As part of this, today's blood donation camp is being organized by the Janjati Morcha. He said that the youth and women of the area are enthusiastic about this.
Later, the Minister inspected the blood donation camp and encouraged the blood donors. He expressed his gratitude to all the blood donors present at today's blood donation camp for their great service and spirit and wished them all good health and a bright future.
Others present at today's blood donation camp included Gouranga Bhaumik, Mandal president of Majlishpur Mandal, Pritam Debnath, Vice Chairman of Jirania Panchayat Samiti, and Sudhan Debbarma, Mandal president of Janjati Morcha.
