Tripura needs real change, Cast votes for TMC only: Abhishek tells voters in Surma

AITC-Surma-Abhishek-TripuraTripura needs real change at this moment, which only we can bring. We can provide protection to people of all age groups of the State who are suffering from BJP misrule, said All India Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee at Surma in Dhalai district.

Banerjee was addressing a poll campaign on Monday for party candidate of Surma Assembly Constituency in which by-poll will be held, along with three other Assembly Constituencies in Tripura, on June 23 next.

Calling upon people to give mandate in favour of Trinamool Congress to free people of Tripura from the clutches of mis-governance of the incumbent BJP government, he said, "The foundation of the party for 2023 elections would have to be built from Surma".

“The administration has realized that people's support is no longer with them. They are attacking us for fear of losing power”, Banerjee said.

During today’s poll campaign Banerjee saluted the courage of the boy who was a victim of alleged BJP sponsored attack at Surma area.

In today’s meeting at Surma, around 150 families joined Trinamool Congress quitting Tipra Motha and IPFT, party sources claimed.

Earlier, Abhishek Banerjee addressed the media in Agartala today.

He urged the voters of the ensuing by-elections in the state to vote for Trinamool Congress and not to waste their votes by exercising their franchise in favour of Congress or CPI-M.

Banerjee said, the people should only vote for TMC to restore democracy, establish rule of law and solve unemployment problem.

.

"Why I appeal to voters to exercise their democratic right fearlessly, because it is not a battle between BJP and TMC or other parties. It is a fight between the autocratic government and the masses," he added.
