Tripura News: 75th I-day celebrated in Tripura, CM Biplab Kumar Deb unfurls National Flag

Along with the whole nation, the 75th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and solemnity across Tripura on Sunday. This year, I-day was celebrated as the Azaadi Ka Amrit Utsav. The central programme in Tripura was held at Assam Rifles ground in Agartala.

 

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb unfurled the National Flag. Speaking on the occasion, Deb said, creation of earning sources for every family of the State is the priority of the incumbent Government. He highlighted several developmental activities and steps taken by the Government for overall development of the State.

After unfurling the national flag, the Chief Minister inspected the parade and took the salute of the march past. The parade included jawans of Tripura Police, TSR and Assam Rifles. In the programme, he handed over medals to Home Guards, NCC personnel and Forest department personnel.

 

Referring to implementation of Promotion Policy-2021, the Chief Minister said the State Government decided in favour of ad hoc promotion in view of pending cases in the Supreme Court. This decision will strengthen the administrative structure as well as create new job opportunities for youths.

 

He also pointed out, “A total of 23,001 employment opportunities under regular, Die-in-harness and outsourcing categories were created so far since 2018-19. Besides, around 80 thousand persons got job opportunities through Contractual, MSME, SHG, private, permanent and temporary employment”.

 

 

In his speech, Deb detailed about steps taken for the development of the Health Care delivery system, pacing up the economic development, and doubling farmers’ income.

 

Along with mentioning initiatives of the Government in Dairy sector and Fisheries, the Chief Minister said, the State Government has planned to introduce "Mission for Commercialization of jackfruit and pineapple" for three years from 2022-23 FY to 2024-25 FY. Under the Mission, a total of 3600 hectares land will be brought under jackfruit and pineapple cultivation as well as the mission will have a facility for an integrated marketing of the products``.

 

In this connection, Deb also spoke in detail about the ‘Tripura Agarwood Policy -2021’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Rubber Mission’. He also highlighted progress of several other initiatives taken by the State Government for the welfare of different sections of urban and rural societies. He exuded confidence that Tripura would emerge as a prosperous and “Adarsh” State in the country.
