On the eve of Counting for AMC Polls begins, members of Agartala Club Forum appeals people to maintain peace and harmony in the city.
The Agartala Club Forum organized a press meet in the press club on Saturday to this end. Chairman of the Club Forum- Sanjoy Paul, Joint Convenors Pranab Sarkar and Sabak Battacharjee along with other representative of clubs were present in the press conference.
While addressing the conference Sarkar said, “We have noticed some people tried to create tension and we have also noticed some unpleasant incident took place in the city. We appeal to all for maintaining the peace and harmony of the city. No member of the club forum should step into the trap of any provocation. Instead, take support from police or ask help from the club forum in case of any unpleasant incident.”
Sabak Battacharjee reiterated the same and urged all the members of the forum to ensure that no unpleasant incidents occur and affect the peace and serenity of the city.
“We are appealing to the Chief Minister, MLAs and the local administration to ensure that not a single incident of unrest in the city occur during and after the counting”, Club Forum members said.
In a joint move, IPFT and Tipra Motha will hold demonstration in support of demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’. Supporters of the two parties will hold the demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on November 30 and December 1 next.
The supporters boarded a train from Agartala to New Delhi on Saturday.
IPFT president NC Debbarma and general secretary Mevar Kumar Jamatia were present in the Station to see off the supporters.
Speaking to the media, Jamatia said, over 1500 supporters of IPFT and Tipra Motha are going to Delhi to raise the demand for separate State for the indigenous people.
IPFT was demanding for separate Tipraland consisting of the areas under the TTAADC. However, Tipra Motha, prior to the ADC Polls, raised a demand for Greater Tipraland with a geographical boundary crossing the State boundary and even the international border.
