General Conference of Molsom Community held
One of the ethnic communities of Tripura, Molsom community held its General Conference 2022 on Monday.
With the initiative of the Molsom Rai Committee the one-day Molsom Choudhury’s (chief’s) General Conference 2022 was conducted at Monafa village under Gandacherra subdivision today.
The Molsom people from all over the State attended the general conference.
The top level representatives of the Molsom society discussed the development of their society in accordance with the customary law of the Molsom community.
They pleaded to preserve and protect their language, costume, heritage, culture and customary law for enhancing the identity of the community.
They also discussed the codification of their customary law in the state.
MLA of Raima valley constituency Dhananjoy Tripura asserted he will raise the customary issue in the forthcoming assembly session to this end.
The Molsom social administrative leaders are working relentlessly to uplift the society in education, economic, integration and social cultural status.
Snatching: two women hurt, lose valuables
A group of snatchers thrashed two women at Udaipur Garjee rail platform in Tripura and snatched jewelry, mobile and cash from their possession on Monday.
The victims are Jaya Ghosh (34) and her daughter Isha Ghosh (13). They are living in a rented house at Chittaranjan road area in Agartala. They were waiting at the Udaipur Garjee rail platform for train and were attacked by the snatchers. Both the women sustained severe injuries in the incident as well as lose valuables.
Later, they were brought to Gomati district hospital and the attending doctor referred them to GBP hospital as their conditions deteriorated.
In the meantime, Gomati district SP Shashvat Kumar and SDPO Dhruba Nath along with Police personnel met the victims at the Gomati District hospital and started an investigation in this connection.
