His noble thoughts, ideology and commitment will continue to inspire people of the country. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this on Tuesday after inaugurating the main programme in Agartala held to commemorate 121st birth anniversary of founder of Jana Sangh Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.
Across the State, several programmes were held to observe the birth anniversary of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee. A mega Health camp was held at Bishalgarh as part of the Birth anniversary celebration which deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma was present.
The main programme was held in Agartala and speaking on the occasion, Biplab Kumar Deb said, Tripura Government is striding forward, inspired by the principals of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recalling the Bharat Keshari, Deb said, “Shyama Prasad wanted Jammu and Kashmir to be linked with overall progress of India. He protested against a separate law for J&K. However, his protest remained unattended for many years. Finally, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah who did it with a strong resolve”.
Deb continued and said, the ‘paradise on earth’ was beleaguered by extremism for years. However, the situation has changed owing to strong move taken by the Prime Minister – J&K is now linked with the mainstream of development of India.
Referring to Tripura, Deb said, people of the State were keen to find an alternative to get rid of long misrule and they relied on Narendra Modi. Within a short span of time, Tripura is emerging shunning it backward State tag and becoming a hub of thriving economic activities. In this connection, Deb assured that his Government is working to take the State to a new height so that shinning future greets the new generation.
