TIPRA Motha is ready to hold talks with any political parties, if they can provide the Motha leaders a written assurance pertaining to constitutional solution to the demand of ‘Greater Tipraland’. Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore came out with this statement following a courtesy meet with West Bengal Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh in Agartala.
“It is very clear, we want Greater Tipraland. We are ready to hold talks with any political party—be it BJP, TMC or CPI-M—if they can give us a constitutional solution to our demand. We want the assurance in writing so that it can be shown to our Tiprasa people,” Pradyot Kishore told the media.
Focusing on his discussion with Ghosh, he said that they discussed about present political situation in the State.
Pradyot Kishore also hinted that there was no such discussion on alliance related issues.
“Kunal Ghosh is known to me for years. He wanted to know about the present political situation of the state and I briefed him accordingly,”Pradyot Kishore commented.
Three days after All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary- Abhishek Banerjee visited Tripura, the West Bengal unit General Secretary of the party arrived here in the state and met two leaders- former MP of CPI-M Ajay Biswas and Chairman of the Tripura Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA)- Pradyot Kishor Manikya.
Ghosh said the visits were just a courtesy and nothing political.
Speaking to the media, Ghosh said that he met Pradyut Kishore following an old connection and they had talks on sports and other matters.
As usual, the meeting between Pradyot Kishore and Kumal Ghosh sparked speculations, however, nothing concrete emerged.
After the I-PAC issue, TMC is now focusing on attack on TMC All India general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s vehicle.
On Thursday, a TMC delegation led by West Bengal unit’s Trinamool Congress General Secretary, Kunal Ghosh submitted a deputation in West Agartala police station seeking action against the attack on Abhishek Banerjee’s convoy in the state on August 2 last.
Later while addressing the media, Ghosh said, “In West Bengal we reduced the Left Front and Congress to zero. In Tripura we would defeat BJP and form Trinamool Congress government. We do what we say”.
Amidst the arrival of leaders from Bengal, local people keep their fingers crossed over the issue of State level committee formation and selection of the State leader of TMC.
