Tripura Police nab two persons, seize suspected vehicles in connection with firing in city outskirt

Tripura Police arrested two persons in connection with firing incident at Natun Nagar Bazar area along the Airport road in Agartala on Tuesday (October 25) night. Police also seized two vehicles suspected to be used by the accused.  At least four rounds were fired.

 

enewstime-Tripura-firing-AgartalaIn the firing incident two persons – Sanjoy Das and Haripada Das – sustained bullet injuries. Police on Tuesday late night told the media that both the injured were out of danger. Sanjoy and Haripada Das are residents of Natun Nagar area.

 

In a tweet on Wednesday, Tripura Police wrote, “On the firing incident took place at Natun Nagar yesterday  (25.10.2022) Police registered a specific case and arrested two FIR named accused persons and also seized two suspected vehicles within 06 hours of the incident. Further investigation is going on”. Both the nabbed persons hail from Usha Bazar area.

 

According to sources, a case vide case no 2022WAG169 dated 26/10/2022, US – 326/307/34 IPC & 27 (2) of Arms Act was lodged with the West Agartala Police Station.

 

One of the nabbed persons Prabhakar Ghosh (40) is stated to be the secretary of Bharat Ratna Club at Ushabazar, the other person is Santosh Das (35) of the same area.  

 

Notably, the firing incident in the outskirt of Agartala, a day after Kali Puja, created tension and panic among the people. However, Police swung into action promptly. Led by officials, Police force reached the spot and started investigation. Security was beefed up in the area. CCTV clips were studied to identify the assailants.
