Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned jackfruit of Tripura in his popular programme 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday

While citing examples that new products from all corners of the country were reaching foreign shores, the Prime Minister said, "....Fresh jackfruits from Tripura were exported to London by air."

The Prime Minister also said, the country achieved a feat last week that filled all the countrymen with pride.

"You must have heard that last week, India has achieved the export target of $ 400 billion, i.e. 30 lakh crore rupees. At first instance, it might come across as a matter related to the economy; but more than the economy, it is related to the capability of India, the potential of India," he said according to a PIB press release.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who listened to the Mann Ki Baat along with BJP Karyakartas of Banamalipur at Swami Dayalananda Vidyaniketan of Dhaleswar, extended gratitude to the Prime Minister for mentioning Tripura's jackfruit in the popular programme.

Speaking to the media, Deb said, the Prime Minister's words would encourage the jackfruit growers in the state and help the state's jackfruit get international market.
