Unidentified miscreants open fire in city outskirt: Two sustain bullet injuries

Car-borne miscreants fired at two persons at Natun Nagar bazar area in Agartala (Tripura) on Tuesday night. Two persons sustained bullet injuries in the incident. Amidst panic and tension, police started massive man-haunt.

 

As per the available information, a group of people were standing in front of a fast food shop at Natunnagar bazar at night when the assailants arrived at the spot in a car. The unidentified miscreants slowed down the car near them and opened fire – apparently from pistols - targeting them. At least four rounds were fired.

 

enewstime-Tripura-Police-firing-AgartalaIn the firing, two persons namely Sanjoy Das and Haripada Das received bullet injuries.  Both of them hail from Natun Nagar area in Agartala.

 

Later, Police led by the SO West Tripura Sankar Debnath, SDPO and Officers-in-charge of Airport and West Police Stations rushed to the spot. Police recovered four empty cartridges from the spot. The injured persons were taken to hospital while Police launched a massive search for the miscreants.

 

According to the Police both the injured persons are undergoing treatment at a private hospital and are out of danger. Police are inspecting the CCTVs installed near the spot for clues and are hopeful in nabbing the culprits.

 

Meantime, panic and tension are running high and security was beefed up.

 

“A group of 5-6 persons bought egg rolls from my fast food shop at around 8.30pm tonight and made the payment. After finishing the egg rolls, they moved away from my shop and were preparing to leave the place. Meantime, I heard sound of firing and found two persons got bullet injuries – I along with others informed the Police”, said the owner of the Fast Food Shop, Balaram Saha.
