In an attempt to accelerate pace of testing, door-to-door Rapid Antigen Covid19 Testing will start in Tripura from Monday.
In a tweet today, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan wrote, “Spoke to CM Sh @BjpBiplabji who assured me that situation is well under control.
Door-To-Door Rapid Antigen Covid Testing shall start full swing Monday onwards. Aggressive testing & containment measures are being taken after Covid cases shot up recently”.
In another tweet, Dr Harsh Vardhan assured full support to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and ‘asked’ him to accelerate pace of testing.
Deb also re-tweeted the same.
Dr Harsh Vardhan also underlined that even as total number of Covid19 cases shot up to 1776, so far only one person died from Covid19 – leaving case fatality rate at 0.06 per cent only. The Union Minister also mentioned that doubling rate is 22.8 in case of Tripura.
Notably, giving credit for efficiently tackling Covid19 pandemic, the Chief Minister, in a programme on Friday (July 10) underlined Tripura is one of the top States in Covid19 management.
In his tweet Dr Harsh Vardhan also gave details of medical equipment etc supplied to Tripura. He wrote, total 1,04,273 nos. of N95 masks are available in Tripura while 7,742 nos. of PPEs and seven numbers of Ventilators are available.
Meanwhile, total 1.48 lakh N95 masks were supplied, 1.13 lakh PPEs and 2.50 lakh HCQs were supplied to Tripura to support battle against coronavirus, so far. Also, 16 numbers of Ventilators were supplied.
In a press meet on Friday, State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, uses of Antigen Detection Kit to detect Covid19 patients quickly had been started from Friday (July 10, 2020). Passengers of Rajdhani Express that reached Agartala on Friday were tested using the kit.
Nath also informed media, this kit would be used in all the entry points of the State to accelerate pace of tests.
Advantage of Antigen Detection Kit is that reports are available within 30 minutes and no specialized machines are required to perform the test.
