Tripura school girl, Puhabi Chakraborty won two gold, one bronze medal in Wako Indian open International kickboxing tournament held in New Delhi

Agartala, February 16, 2020: Puhabi Chakraborty, an 8th standard student of KV NIT in Agartala was selected from the State to participate in the ‘Wako Indian open International kickboxing tournament’. The tournament was held from February 9 to February 13, 2020 in Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
In the tournament, Puhabi participated in three events, namely Tatami musical floor routine, light contact kickboxing and kick light kickboxing. She secured two gold medals and one bronze medal in those three events respectively. She competed against more than 1500 participants from across 12 countries.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated her. In a tweet, Deb said, “I congratulate Puhabi Chakraborty, a School student from Tripura for securing two golds & one bronze medal in the Wako Indian open International kickboxing tournament held at New Delhi. We are proud of your achievements and wish you all the best for your further endeavours”.
She dedicated her success to her State coach, Pinaki Chakraborti for his guidance and training in kickboxing. She also hailed her parents, Dr Prasun Chakraborty and Sutapa Chakraborty for their supports and blessings. Expressing her gratitude, Puhabi thanked her School KV NIT in Agartala, who allowed her freedom to fly with her dream.
