Markets on Haatbaar at several TTAADC areas were also affected. Two universities – Tripura University (a central varsity) and Maharaja Bir Bikram University (under Tripura Government) – postponed their examinations due to the strike.

The administration made elaborate security arrangements. A huge contingent of security forces including central para-military and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) were deployed to deal with the situation.

More than 3000 picketers were arrested from different places across the State.
