In a resounding affirmation of the state and central governments’ unwavering commitment to inclusive development, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha addressed the state-level celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Wednesday.
This event, commemorating the birth anniversary of Bhagaban Birsa Munda, served as a platform for Dr. Saha to highlight the concerted efforts being made to ensure that the benefits of government flagship schemes reach every individual in Tripura.
Marking the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Tribal Development Mission, a crucial step towards empowering the state’s Janajati communities.
Alongside this initiative, he also launched ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and Proti Ghore Susashan 2.0 (Good Governance 2.0), two programs designed to bridge the gap between government schemes and the people they are intended to serve.
Dr. Saha’s address underscored the historical and cultural significance of Janajati communities, emphasizing the importance of preserving their rich heritage and recognizing their invaluable contributions to India’s freedom struggle. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declaration of November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, a testament to the central government’s commitment to upholding the rights and aspirations of Janajati communities.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, centrally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and slated to continue until January 26, 2024, will have a particular focus on Janajati areas. It aims to raise awareness about Modi’s schemes benefiting the people, preserving the heritage of Janajati communities, and honoring their role in India’s freedom struggle.
Reaffirming the joint commitment of both state and central governments, Dr. Saha expressed unwavering determination to ensure that all flagship schemes reach every individual. He emphasized a mission-oriented approach, stating, “We are working tirelessly to ensure access to facilities like sanitation, financial aid, housing, food security, and other fundamental rights for everyone. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to bridge the gap for those who have been excluded from benefiting from these schemes.”
To further amplify the reach of these initiatives, the Chief Minister announced the initiation of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Tripura, deploying two vehicles to traverse the state, particularly focusing on Janajati areas. Additionally, he mentioned the relaunch of Proti Ghore Susashan 2.0, aimed at including those left out of government schemes. Meetings have been initiated at various administrative levels for effective implementation.
The gathering was graced by the presence of notable figures including Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikas Debbarma, Cooperative Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP of Tripura Police Amitabh Ranjan, and other officials.
