Nearly two hundred media employees including scribes based in the city today received a relief package from the
representatives of JF Foundation which were donated by Vientiane (Lao PDR) based Assamese entrepreneurs Habib Mohammed Chowdhury and his brother Soukthavy Chowdhury (Sadik).
The selected beneficiaries arrived at Chandmari locality of the city following the health protocols and took the package maintaining social distance. They unanimously appreciated the donors for the support extended to them during the Covid-19 pandemic that has virtually ruined the media industry across Assam.
Formed in 2010 in memory of Chowdhury’s parents Fajlur Rahman and Jahanara Begum Chowdhury, the JF Foundation has already extended supports to over 75000 families facing the pandemic. Moreover, around 25,000 families who faced the annual Assam flood furies were also offered food items by the foundation.
