Mumbai, June 28 (IANS) ‘Kaanta Laga’ star Shefali Jariwala breathed her last in Mumbai on late Friday night, IANS reported. She was 42 years old.
Her husband rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital late Friday night where she was declared dead on arrival.
There is no official statement from the hospital or family relating to cause of her demise.
However, some reports indicated Jariwala might have died to cardiac arrest. Her body as taken to the Cooper Hospital for conducting a post mortem. Mumbai Police have started initial investigation.
Ironically, Jariwala wrote her last X post dedicating her friend and former-boyfriend, Sidharth Shukla, who tragically passed away under similar circumstances in his 40s.
On Shukla’s death anniversary, Jariwala wrote, “Thinking of you today mere dost Sidharth Shukla.”
Jariwala and Shukla dated each other over 15 years ago.
Her career
Shefali Jariwala’s career highlights extended beyond “Kaanta Laga.” She also appeared in the Salman Khan-starrer film “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” and the 2019 web series “Baby Come Naa.”
Her television appearances included dance reality shows like “Boogie Woogie” and “Nach Baliye,” further solidifying her connection with audiences.
Notably, Jariwala was a participant in “Bigg Boss 13,” where she was seen with her friend and former boyfriend, Sidharth Shukla.
Police investigation
Mumbai Police have already looking into the case and started preliminary probe with interrogation of her cook and domestic help.
Besides, a forensic team was also dispatched to Jariwala’s residence, where they conducted a thorough search. The presence of police and forensic officials points towards the authorities treating the case as potentially suspicious, particularly owing lack of any official statement regarding her death.
