Agartala Apr 23, 2025: Tripura effortlessly secured a spot in the semifinals, clinching victory in two consecutive matches at the Little Master Under-14 Cricket Tournament held in Guwahati, Assam.

In their second match on Wednesday, Tripura easily defeated Manipur at the ACA Cricket Ground in Barsapara. Chasing Manipur’s total of 136, Tripura reached the target without losing a single wicket. Sresthanshu Deb, who scored a century in the first match, added a half-century to his tally, proving himself a formidable force.

Manipur batted first and were bowled out for 136 runs in 38.5 overs. The top scorer for the team was Tyrus Chabungbam, who made 39 runs off 66 balls with four boundaries before being dismissed by Rihan Aktar. Yumnam Tomthinnganba contributed 2 runs from 11 deliveries, also falling to Rihan Aktar. Sagatpam Telheiba added 21 runs off 53 balls but was declared leg before wicket (LBW) to Tusar Malakar.

Kh Korounganba managed 2 runs from 6 balls before being run out by Sriman Debnath, while wicketkeeper Priyojit Thongam also scored 2 runs from 19 balls and was caught by Debnath off the bowling of Tusar Malakar. Captain Daneil Seram was dismissed for just 1 run off 8 deliveries by Bihan Das. Kh Firdos offered some resistance, scoring 32 runs off 44 balls with four boundaries, but he too was taken out by Rihan Aktar.

Shohel Akter was dismissed for a duck (0) in 3 balls by Rihan Aktar. Lamnganba N. added 5 runs from 12 balls before being trapped LBW by Anuj Dey. Ningthoujam Bidyananda Singh remained not out, scoring 8 runs from 10 balls with one boundary. Farhan Ahmed was the final batter to fall, out for a duck on his very first delivery, once again to Rihan Aktar.

The team benefited from 24 extra runs, which included 5 leg byes, 17 wides, and 2 byes. Rihan Aktar was the most successful bowler against Manipur, taking 5 wickets in total.

Rihan Aktar shone for Tripura, claiming 5 wickets for 22 runs.

In response, Tripura successfully chased the target without losing any wickets, scoring 139 runs in 36.2 overs. Shresthangshu Deb remained not out with a well-made 62 runs off 103 balls, which included 11 boundaries. His partner, Sriman Debnath, who also captains the side, stayed unbeaten on 63 runs from 115 balls, hitting 9 boundaries.

Together, they guided the team to a commanding victory. Tripura also received 14 extra runs, which included 10 wides and 4 byes. The remaining batters—Tusar Malakar, Bihan Das, Rihan Aktar, Abhoy Deb, Rajdeep Debnath (wicketkeeper), Subhajit Kuri, Anuj Dey, Ayush Debnath, and Biprajit Das—were not required to bat.
