Maryam Nawaz asserts Imran Khan’s ‘Game is over’ amidst leadership exodus

Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz, delivered a passionate address to a gathering of enthusiastic party supporters, boldly proclaiming, “Your game is over, Imran Khan.”

While this statement is not unprecedented coming from Maryam and her party leaders, the recent wave of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members leaving the party following the riots on May 9 has significantly weakened Imran Khan’s position, placing him in an uphill battle, as reported by The Express Tribune.

Speaking at a youth convention, Maryam voiced her skepticism towards the PTI’s mantra of “Tabdeli” (change), suggesting that this proposed transformation would ultimately be futile.

She stated, “This change will drown in the same open sewer it came out of.”

Maryam accused Khan of orchestrating the May 9 riots, which witnessed furious protesters attacking military and private properties.

She expressed her belief that the public would not spare Imran Khan or the judges who supported him in his alleged unlawful actions, specifically referencing Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial, as reported by The Express Tribune.

Furthermore, Maryam criticized the PTI workers and leaders for their perceived lack of resilience, highlighting the contrast with her own father, Nawaz Sharif, and his unwavering determination in the face of adversity.

She emphasized, “Those who tried to eradicate Nawaz Sharif have themselves been eradicated.”

Maryam firmly asserted that no enemy would dare to commit the kind of acts that Imran Khan and his followers allegedly engaged in.

According to The Express Tribune, she suggested that as soon as Imran was arrested, his supporters executed premeditated protests, specifically targeting military installations throughout the country.

Maryam raised pertinent questions regarding the protesters’ choice of targets during the riots. She questioned why they did not direct their aggression towards the Mall of Lahore, located opposite the residence of the corps commander.

Maryam also questioned why they headed straight for the cantonment in Quetta, the GHQ instead of Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi, and the FC in Peshawar.

Additionally, she expressed her dismay over the burning of a plane, symbolizing Pakistan’s valor and bravery, in Mianwali. Maryam stressed that these attacks were directed at the Pakistan Army. (Edited).
