To have an overview of development activities in the State, a media team comprising 10 journalists from Varanashi visited several places of the State this week. Under the aegis of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the team visited villages under Mandwi block, CNG project, Headquarters of TTAADC, Khumlwang, Integrated Check Post and Land Port at Agartala, Rubber plantation and processing centre, natural gas and power projects of ONGC and OTPC, Border Haat, Kamalasagar during last four days.
The media team, headed by Hari Lal, Assistant Director of PIB Varanasi today visited plants and projects relating to clean city program, drinking water, sewerage and solid waste management as well as housing for slum dwellers under Agartala Municipal Corporation.
During the tour, the team interacted with MLA Manoranjan Debbarma, BDO of Mandwi Manohar Biswas, CEO of TTAADC Abhishek Singh, Joint Commissioner of Rubber Board and high officials and engineers of ONGC, OTPC, Dr. Milind Ramteke, Commissioner of AMC and district magistrate & collector of the West Tripura district.

During the tour the media persons had adequate interaction with the local people of different walks of life and visited heritage sites like State Museum, Matabari, Neer Mahal and Choudda Devata Temple too. The team members expressing satisfaction over the tour said all of the concerned newspapers started bringing out news reports, submitted by them from here electronically on day to day basis. The visiting media persons represented various print and visual media such as Hindustan, Jan Varta, Aaj, Dainik Jagaran, Bharat Doot, Jansatta, City Times, AIR & DD News.
