In Arunachal Pradesh, the second sitting of State Assembly’s winter session is going on at YT Hotel Naharlagun, Arunachal. Meanwhile, Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee is staging dharna at the Raj Bhawan Road and have blocked the NH-415 at Mithun Gate, Itanagar, demanding the ouster of Governor JP Rajkhowa.
The first sitting of the controversy-marred Legislative Assembly’s winter session was held at a make shift venue in Itanagar yesterday as no one was allowed to enter the State Assembly premises. At the sitting, chaired by Deputy Speaker TN Thondok, Nabam Rebia was removed from the seat of the Legislative Assembly Speaker by a voice vote. Mr Rebia has termed the move as illegal and unconstitutional.
Arunachal Pradesh has been rocked by a political crisis as 21 rebel Congress MLAs joined hands with 11 of BJP and two independents to impeach Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia.
Meanwhile news agencies have reported, Nabam Govt has failed to prove majority during floor test.
