Agartala, July 14, 2019: With better implementation of Soubhagya Yojana scheme and expansion of power services, the State Government has decided to strengthen its ground level work force for ensuring 24X7 uninterrupted power supply in the State. Sources in the power department claimed, the department is likely to appoint 192 linemen soon to ensure better services.
Besides, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devbarma, who also holds the charge of Power department, has recently presided over a series of meetings with the higher officials of TSECL, so that better services could be provided to masses.
Dev Barman is touring districts and holding meetings with concerned officials to improve quality of services as well as speedy implementation of central projects. Today, a review meeting was convened at Dharmanagar in North Tripura to assess the power related situation prevailed over there. Devbarma directed the officials of Unakoti and North Tripura districts to work in a time bound manner.
Sources said, the minister stressed on smooth and effective delivery of electricity services. He also held discussion and reviewed various under-progress works throughout Unakoti and North Tripura districts.
Officials informed the Power Minister that altogether 11,113 connections in North Tripura and 6,825 connections in Unakoti district were given under Soubhagya Yojana scheme.
