Agartala, February 13, 2019: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today urged people of the state not to get influenced by campaigns of a section of the society. On contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), Deb assured that the cultural integrity of the state, land, education etc of the State would be maintained by the present dispensation.
Addressing a press conference at civil secretariat he said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified during his Assam visit that CAB would be enacted after a course of discussion with North Eastern Chief Ministers and that is why it was not tabled in the Rajya Sabha.
“I am committed to safeguard the interest of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion as I am mandated to discharge my duty as per the constitution”, he said.
The people must identify the fraction of people who are relentlessly trying to disturb the state under the pretext of withdrawal demand of CAB, he added. While asked of any strict actions against the people who are involved in mudslinging upon the government and cabinet of ministers through social media, he said, the Cyber cell unit is on this job. The chief minister who was accompanied by deputy chief minister Jishnu Devbarama also assured that the government will not let any misleading power with communal tendencies to become successful.
