Agartala, June 05, 2019: Large religious congregations were organized in different parts of the State on the occasion to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. Dressed in their festive best, Muslim devotees sitting on rugs offered namaaz or prayer with spiritual fervor and gaiety. It was followed by a warm exchange of greetings and embrace and at the same time an expression of spreading messages of love and unity.
In Agartala- capital city of Tripura, thousands of devotees gathered At Gedu Miah Masjid to offer their prayers. Similar congregation was also held in Town Zame Mosque where large number of people also participated under a festive atmosphere.
In the city Shivanagar, Border Gol Chakkar, Aralia and Shantipara were some of the areas where large congregations of prayers were organized. Moreover, The Day was celebrated in jovial mood at sub-divisional towns like Sonamura, Boxanagar, Kailasahar and Dharmanagar of the State.
Muslims described the festival as an event of promoting love and compassion among humans and hoped the Almighty would bless everyone and bring happiness in their lives. Biriyani, fresh fruits and home-made desserts were seen on every platter.
Cultural programs were organized in different pockets of the state where children donning traditional attires were seen reveling in festive spirit. Heavy security arrangements were made across all the districts to prevent any breach of peace.
All the government offices, banks, business houses and educational institutions were closed for the day as holiday. According to Police, there was no report of any untoward incident from anywhere in the state in connection with today’s festivity as the state administration had left no stone unturned to ensure peaceful observance of the day by deploying adequate number of security forces in all areas.
